Arcam and Oak Ridge National Laboratory Sign Cooperation Agreement

Arcam and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) signed a cooperation agreement to facilitate introduction of Arcam’s EBM® technology (Electron Beam Melting) to U.S. industry through a Manufacturing Demonstration Facility.

ORNL purchased its first Arcam EBM system in 2009. Since tne, ORNL and Arcam have worked together to create opportunities for U.S. industry to adopt Arcam’s EBM technology to meet emerging advanced manufacturing challenges. Under a newly installed Cooperative Research and Development Agreement, Arcam and ORNL will further collaborate to advance Arcam’s unique technology to bring even greater advanced manufacturing benefit to U.S. industries. As part of this agreement, Arcam intends to locate an application development center at ORNL to support U.S. industry application development. (Source: Arcam AB)
