GE Additive launched the Arcam EBM Build Performance Analyzer, a new suite of machine health data analytics. Phased release will begin in December 2019 to Arcam EBM Q10 and Q10plus customers, then to Arcam EBM Q20 and Arcam EBM Q20plus customers in 1Q20 and to Arcam EBM Spectra customers through 2Q/3Q20.
In the analyzer, data is collected during the printing process from in situ machine sensors, then analyzed using algorithms to provide users with a holistic view of process and machine health. The software can run on both the machine itself or on a user’s laptop.
In addition to a highly visual user interface featuring health indicators such as expected versus actual values, where needed, operators can receive 32 root cause analyses with recommendations for any corrective actions, as well as warnings for non-critical events.
The development team examined more than 350 log files to identify statistical clustering and applied machine learning, based on a combination of parameters to retrieve machine behavior. The Arcam Build Performance Analyzer identifies key parameter trend plotting and enhanced report generation, and provides users with meaningful, predictive data and information to inform decision making and future design and development.
