Additive Manufacturing Innovator Andy Christensen Joins Precision ADM Board

As it seeks to increase its 3D printing experience and medical device industry knowledge to expand and grow, Precision ADM has added Andy Christensen to its Board of Directors. Mr. Christensen has spent his entire career focused on developing and expanding the medical applications of additive manufacturing. From 2000 to 2014, he was the Founder and President of Medical Modeling Inc., a medical device-focused 3D printing service bureau.

Medical Modeling played a role in the very first FDA clearances for additive metal implants serving the orthopedic and spine markets. Medical Modeling worked with surgeons and device companies to create new toolsets for patient-specific anatomic modeling, virtual surgical planning and personalized surgical guides and implants. Medical Modeling was acquired by 3D Systems, where it contributed to the creation of a new business vertical in the healthcare space. Mr. Christensen left 3D Systems in 2015 to pursue other interests.

“Precision ADM is well positioned to capitalize on the expanding market for additive manufacturing in the medical device space. It’s a pleasure to be asked to join the board of this dynamic organization,” Christensen said.

Earlier this month, Mr. Christensen participated in a strategic U.S. private investment funding to further the company’s aggressive growth strategy in the medical device sector.
