Universal Precision Instruments Acquired by ARCH Global Precision

Universal Precision Instruments (UPI) has been acquired by ARCH Global Precision, a family of companies focused on manufacturing precision cutting tools, precision machined industrial components and medical implants and instruments.

UPI—located in Elkhart, Indiana—is a contract manufacturer of instruments and guide wires, primarily in the spine space. Post-transaction, UPI will become part of ARCH’s medical division, ARCH Medical Solutions (AMS).

The transaction is ARCH’s fourth medical acquisition since 2016, following Advanced Precision, Bob Mfg. and Seabrook Medical.

“Strategically, UPI will expand AMS’s capabilities to include fluted and ground instruments for spinal surgeries, and provide a physical presence near the medical hub of Warsaw,” said Paul Barck, Divisional President of ARCH Medical Solutions.
