VSMPO‐Tirus, US announced today that the titanium company along with its subsidiary NF&M International have received ISO 13485:2003 certification for the company’s quality management system. ISO 13485 is the premier quality certification for the manufacture of medical devices. The certification compliments VSMPO‐AVISMA’s ISO 13485 certification and includes the company’s Ontario, California and Leetsdale, Pennsylvania service centers and the NF&M International manufacturing facility in Monaca, Pennsylvania. Achieving this certification demonstrates the VSMPO commitment to providing quality precision tolerance and standard tolerance titanium bar and wire to the medical market. ISO 13485 adds to the company’s ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality certifications.

NF&M also provides a wide range of conversion services, intermediate grinding and finishing of bar/billet at the Monaca, Pennsylvania facility, including heat treating, straightening, bar peeling, bar polishing, pickling and inspection.
