Ray Fontana Retiring From Ionbond

It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing the retirement of Raymond Fontana effective June 29, 2012. Ray has been with Ionbond for over 23 years.

He began his career at Ionbond in 1989 as an Applications Development Manager in Rockaway, New Jersey as part of the Research & Development Division. He was promoted to the position of Director of Technology in 1992 and then again to the role of Vice President of Technology from 1993 to 1998. Under his leadership in this position the group was responsible for the development and application of many of the major coatings used commercially today. The New Jersey center was one of the first companies in the state of New Jersey to qualify for ISO 9000 certification.

In 1998 as the company transitioned from Multi-Arc to Ionbond he was promoted to the position of Business Director Components and Medical Services along with overseeing operations at the New Jersey coating center.

His continued commitment and dedication to this company led him to become Segment Manager Global Medical Services while also becoming the Operations Manager for the New Jersey coating center.

As Segment Manager for Global Medical Services he was instrumental in implementing the necessary components for providing high quality medical device coatings. All the products offered under the Medthinâ„¢ brand of medical device coatings have been tested for biocompatibility according to ISO 10993-1 protocols and have been FDA Master Filed. Validated coating processes were implemented along with certification of the New Jersey to the medical device ISO 13485 standard. This has made Ionbond the premier supplier of coating products and services for Medical Device Applications in the world today.

Ray has played an important role in the growth and success of Ionbond.

Although we will miss Ray, he has worked hard all of his career and has more than earned the opportunity to enjoy more time with his family and grandchildren.

Please join me in wishing Ray all the best in his retirement. (Source: Ionbond)
