Tecomet Wins Supplier of the Year from Lanx

Tecomet, a contract manufacturer based in Wilmington, Massachusetts, has been recognized as Supplier of the Year by Lanx, Inc. of Broomfield, Colorado. Surgeon-founded in Colorado, Lanx partners with leading orthopedic and neuro spine surgeons around the world to develop unique, cutting-edge spinal solutions designed to provide improved care through less invasive procedures. Lanx offers a comprehensive, continually expanding portfolio of innovative, rapidly deployed solutions backed by state-of-the-art engineering and sound clinical evidence.

In 2010, Tecomet was asked to support the manufacturing of Lanx’s line of Aspen™ MIS Fusion System products. Tecomet is an expert in the manufacturing of orthopedic implants for major original equipment manufacturing companies in the United States and abroad. Tecomet’s capabilities, including forging and machining of complex, high reliability components, lined up perfectly with Lanx’s needs.

“It has been a great relationship,” said Peter Wong, Tecomet’s Vice President of Wilmington Operations. “Once we proved our capabilities to Lanx, we were able to take on a higher volume of the Lanx products.” Mr. Wong continued, “Tecomet has made a significant investment in equipment, people and space to serve the needs of spinal customers. This was a textbook rollout of a customer/supplier relationship, with lots of information flowing back and forth that allowed for a rapid deployment of resources to meet all of the Lanx due dates, quality requirements and price points. Tecomet is proud to accept this award and looks forward to a long lasting relationship with Lanx.” (Source: Tecomet)
