RMP Achieves ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Laboratory Accreditation

Restoration Medical Polymers (RMP) announced that its internal material/analytical test laboratory has achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation for several test methods, establishing a leading position as a testing facility specializing in UHMWPE and other plastics. The current scope of accreditation includes:

  • Double notched IZOD impact strength (ASTM F648 Annex A1)
  • Tensile properties of plastics (ASTM F648/D638)
  • Small punch testing (ASTM F2977)
  • Density by displacement (ASTM D792)
  • Differential scanning calorimetry (ASTM F2625)

General Manager Brad Emerick said, “With this lab accreditation, RMP strengthens its position as a leader in the medical-grade UHMWPE supply chain and opens high-quality contract laboratory testing as a new service for our customers.”

Achieving ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation confirms that the RMP laboratory has the management, quality, and technical systems in place to ensure accurate and reliable analyses. It also assures customers that RMP has the proper administrative processes to ensure all aspects related to the sample, the analysis, and the reporting are standardized, measured, and monitored.

RMP specializes in extrusion, sheet compression molding and direct compression molding net and near net shape parts.
