AAOS Reschedules 2021 Meeting

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) rescheduled its 2021 Annual Meeting, pushing it from mid-March to Tuesday, August 31 through Saturday, September 4. The conference will remain at the San Diego Convention Center.

The decision to shift the dates was made after scenario planning due to COVID-19, according to an update sent by Joseph A. Bosco, III, M.D., FAAOS, AAOS President.

AAOS’s announcement is just the latest news in the evolution of meetings in the COVID era. In July, it was made known that the North American Spine Society 2020 Annual Meeting would be conducted as a virtual event, convening from October 6 through 9, 2020.

Society meetings have been crucial for connecting with surgeons and customers, sharing product launches and reviewing the latest industry research. The current environment has made it difficult to communicate these important messages and nurture crucial relationships within the orthopedic community.
