In October, Elos Medtech Onyx opened the doors to its U.S. production site that was expanded by 27,000 square feet, nearly doubling the former 52,000-square-foot facility to reach 79,000 square feet of manufacturing space to support customers in the global orthopedic market.
The Elos Medtech Onyx production site has been expanded several times before. The company has also invested heavily in new equipment and employees, having experienced an increased demand for drills, specialty cutting instruments, pins, wires and screws for use in both traditional trauma and robotically-enabled surgery. This significant expansion allows Elos Medtech Onyx to keep pace for present customers and meet demand from new ones.
Elos Medtech acquired Onyx Medical in 2015, part of significant investments in its orthopedic business segment. Today, the company leverages capabilities at sites in the U.S., Europe and China. Globally, they can handle difficult geometries and advanced surface treatments, with solutions from engineering and design to complete finishing such as electropolishing, passivation, etching, inking, custom packaging and inventory management.
