OrthoMed now offers multi-use nitinol trial rods for spine surgery. The silicone trial rods with a nitinol wire center relax when autoclaved, returning the rods to their original shape. The shape memory alloy-assisted correction rods can be used in scoliosis and other lumbar fixation applications.
Ease of use helps result in shorter fitting times and optimized positioning precision, which can reduce surgery time and blood loss.
The rods are available in standard off-the-shelf or custom lengths, in company logo colors.
