Viant Appoints New CEO, Alton Shader

Viant, a global strategic manufacturing partner to medical device OEMs, selected Alton E. Shader to be chief executive officer. Former CEO Brian King continues to serve Viant as a senior advisor.

Shader has led growth across a variety of medical device companies in his 20 years of experience, including Hill-Rom’s acquisitions of Welch Allyn, leader in point of care diagnostics and testing, and Mortara, developer of diagnostic cardiology devices. His expertise with M&A will support Viant’s continued expansion, as over the past three years, the company has invested heavily in organic growth and three strategic acquisitions, including Integer’s Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics product lines prior to its rebranding as Viant. Other transactions include the purchases of Vention Medical’s Device Manufacturing Services business and Orthoplastics.

Prior to Hill-Rom, Mr. Shader held senior and general manager positions in Europe for Baxter International. He most recently served as president and CEO of Vein Clinics of America.

Viant supports the orthopedic industry as a supplier of implants, instruments and delivery systems, as well as UHMWPE components, and offers deep materials expertise.
