Medacta Enters U.S. and Australian Sports Medicine Markets

Following receipt of regulatory clearances from FDA and the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration, Medacta is introducing the Mecta®Lock PEEK Suture Anchor and the Mecta®Screw PEEK Interference Screw in these regions.

The MectaLock PEEK anchor is used in acetabular and glenoid labral repairs, while the MectaScrew PEEK Interference Screw is indicated for reconstruction of ruptured anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments with autograft and allografts.

The company’s M-ARS ACL (Medacta Anatomic Ribbon Surgery), which received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2017, is intended for use in knee arthroscopy.

Medacta will continue to grow its sports medicine portfolio.
