Oxford Performance Materials: OsteoFab PEKK Study Results

Oxford Performance Materials (OPM) announced research study results that established a definitive link between OPM’s 3D-printed OsteoFab® PEKK material and bone regeneration. In vitro results demonstrated the ability of human synovial fluid mesenchymal stem cells to attach, proliferate and differentiate on PEKK scaffolds, while in vivo results showed strong evidence of new bone formation.

Further, 3D-printed PEKK showed no observable immunological rejection and no increase in inflammatory response cells.

Since 2013, OPM has manufactured patient-specific cranial and facial implant devices for global distribution. In addition to over 2,000 craniomaxillofacial implants, OPM has 3D-printed tens of thousands of spinal implants under a number of 510(k) clearances.
