Preclinical contract research organization AccelLAB opened 3,800 additional square feet of lab space dedicated to histology. The site includes non-decalcified histology embedding/processing centers equipped with Exakt microgrinding/micropolishing equipment, as well as Micro Computed Tomography equipment (Nikon XTH 225 and a brand-new Bruker SkyScan 1272 Micro CT).
“Scaling up our histopathology service offer by doubling our original histology lab space marks another important milestone reached in our 15-year history,” says Dr. Guy Leclerc, President and CEO. “This expansion will resume in 2019 with major infrastructural changes including additional vivarium suites and operating rooms, which will be implemented later this year.”
Overall, AccelLAB operates 40,000 square feet of facilities conducting product safety, efficacy and performance studies from the proof of concept to regulatory submission in a GLP environment. Preclinical evaluation services include study design, on-site surgeries/interventions, histology, histomorphometry, histopathology and clinical pathology.
