Renishaw Opens Additive Manufacturing Solutions Centres in Italy and Spain

To accelerate the adoption of laser powder bed fusion for series production, Renishaw has established new additive manufacturing (AM) Solutions Centres in Barcelona, Spain and Torino, Italy.

Together with the staff of AM specialists, center users can run projects to build knowledge, understand product performance impact and assess the technology for capability and costs. Renishaw assists throughout the investigation and business case development process, so companies can optimize designs and make informed investment decisions.

Equipment includes Renishaw’s multi-laser machines and all metrology, finishing and machining capabilities required to make a functional part.

Other centers are located throughout America, Canada, China, Germany, India and the United Kingdom. Last year, the company established a demo facility within the headquarters of Ibex in California to allow exploration and use of the RenAM 500 series of laser-powder bed fusion AM systems.

“The Solutions Centres have proved to be a successful way for manufacturers to accelerate learning about this new technology,” explained Marc Saunders, Director of Global Solutions Centres at Renishaw. “Early users of the Solutions Centres, who have benefitted from accessing our facilities, are now deploying Renishaw’s multi-laser, productive additive manufacturing systems in their own facilities.
