In2Bones commenced launch of three trauma products during 4Q18 designed to address fracture repair and flat foot deformity:

  • CoLink Afx® Ankle Fracture system comprises five plate lines to treat traumatic fractures and osteotomies. Designs include Lateral Fibula, Posterior-Lateral Fibula, One-Third Tubular, Medial Tibia and Posterior Tibia, all with VAL—Variable Angle Locking screws. Afx represents the company’s expansion from plates and screws for use in the metatarsophalangeal joints and into the ankle fracture market. Company leadership stated that product development in the high-volume ankle fracture market is a focus heading into 2019.
  • Also in the CoLink line, the company launched CoLink® View bone plates, one year after receiving FDA 510(k) clearance. CoLink View plates are manufactured from titanium alloy and feature a PEEK hub that appears as transparent under x-ray, allowing for observation of fusion while the fracture heals. Further, PEEK lends elasticity that doesn’t impede healing, as would an all-metal implant. CoLink View is the sixth PEEK-related system to be launched by In2Bones.
  • PitStop® is a see-through PEEK-based implant for correction of pediatric and adult flat foot deformity. The device is intended to help restore the stability of a patient’s arch while walking. PitStop seeks to offer a more elastic (and radiolucent) alternative to traditional metallic subtalar implants that may yield excessive stiffness compared to adjacent bones, possibly causing pain and biomechanical adaptation.

In2Bones—headquartered in Memphis with a European location in France—markets its suite of products in 25 countries globally. In addition to its PEEK and titanium-based implants and instruments, the company also plays in the orthobiologics space with products including bone putties and bioactive glass bone graft substitutes.
