Testing and evaluation companies Knight Mechanical Testing and A-kit America have merged, creating a new company called JTL America.The combined company will offer expanded mechanical and analytical testing capabilities for the orthopaedic and automotive industries.
Immediate expansion plans in Fort Wayne, Indiana include ATOS 3D scanning and X-ray CT inspection capabilities.
Knight Mechanical Testing is an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory specializing in static and dynamic mechanical testing for orthopaedic implants and instruments. A-kit America has primarily provided mechanical testing, 3D measurement and analytical services for the automotive industry.
“We believe that the combination of two cultures and industries creates a more sustainable company that meets the testing needs of all industries,” said Kevin Knight, Chief Sales Officer of JTL America (and former President of Knight Mechanical Testing). “These additional capabilities will complement our current service offering nicely. We selected these technologies based on the service gaps in the U.S. testing market and the testing expertise that A-kit America brings from Japan.”
Effective and efficient testing is a critical topic in orthopaedics. Determinging a sample size and forming a well-conceived testing plan are two important asepcts of the process.
