Kapstone Medical Acquires Loukas Medical Assets

Kapstone Medical acquired the assets of Loukas Medical, an independent orthopaedic engineering firm founded by Mr. Jim Rinner and located in Franksville, Wisconsin. The relationship expands Kapstone Medical’s portfolio with access to a diverse customer base, experienced engineering talent and key intellectual property.

Kapstone will leverage its product development resources to develop and license a novel bone screw technology designed and patented by Loukas Medical. Since 2005, Loukas Medical has assisted medical device companies in orthopaedic and spine product development and manufacturing. Mr. Rinner is an inventor on 60 U.S. patents addressing implants and instruments.

Kapstone Medical is celebrating its tenth year of assisting medical device inventors and OEMs in their development and commercialization of new medical device inventions.
