Flower Orthopedics Expands Ready-For-Surgery Extremity Line

Flower Orthopedics launched three new products: instruments in the Flower Efficiency (E-Kit™) Advanced system; FlowerGraft™, a foot reconstruction platform with pre-shaped, bi-cortical allografts packaged in saline; and the addition of Headless Compression Screws to the Ready-for-Surgery™ cannulated screw set.

The enhanced sterile E-Kits with updated instruments can be used with the company’s plating system as well as with cannulated headed and headless compression screws. One E-Kit can reportedly replace the instruments in two sterilization trays.

FlowerGraft’s saline-packaged implants and single-use instruments may reduce OR time by 30 minutes. Low-profile plates are designed to provide fixation without disrupting soft tissue near the site.

New Headless Compression Screws are available in several diameters to accommodate the most common foot, ankle, hand and wrist procedures.

Flower was founded in 2012 and received its first FDA 510(k) clearance in the following year. E-Kits launched in mid-2016, containing all required cannulated and plating instruments for midfoot, forefoot and ankle fracture procedures in one single-use package. In 1Q17, the company launched the FlowerAdvantage™ initiative designed specifically for cost reduction in ambulatory surgery centers.
