Orchid Names New Leadership After Longtime CEO Retires

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions announced that Mike Miller, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member, has retired as CEO effective December 30, 2016 and remains the Vice Chairman of the board of directors. Jerry Jurkiewicz, formerly Chief Operating Officer and President, is promoted to the role of CEO.

Mr. Miller formed Stealth Technologies in 1990, establishing it as a key supplier in the orthopaedic industry. He was instrumental in introducing near-net forging to the industry and was the architect of what Orchid is today. In 2005, Miller was named CEO of Orchid, which was formed when Churchill Equity Partners acquired majority ownership of Stealth, Unique Instruments, Unique Design, Bio Coat and Bio Vac.

Mr. Jurkiewicz joined Orchid in 2016 as President and Chief Operating Officer. Previous positions included executive P&L roles such as President of Optics and Photonics at IDEX, as well as two PE-backed CEO roles. He has also held various functional roles leading large, complex global Sales and Marketing and Operations organizations at companies like AlliedSignal Automotive and PerkinElmer Optoelectronics.

Orchid has also made additional changes to its commercial and operational structure: Mark Burba is promoted to Chief Operating Officer, while Matt Burba is promoted to the newly-created role of Chief Commercial Officer.
