UPS completed an acquisition of Marken, global provider of supply chain solutions and clinical trials material storage/distribution for life sciences companies.
The transaction combines aspects of extensive geographic reach in logistics plus depth and tailored clinical trials expertise in select regions, and demonstrates UPS’ commitment to unique healthcare industry requirements.
Marken, which will operate as a wholly-owned UPS subsidiary, is a patient-centric supply chain organization that is solely dedicated to pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. It offers a GMP-compliant depot network and logistic hubs in 45 locations worldwide for clinical trial material storage and distribution. Additional services include ancillary material sourcing, storage and distribution, shipment lane verification and qualifications, as well as GDP, regulatory and compliance consultancy.
