IK Investment Partners to Acquire Majority Stake in Marle

IK Investment Partners, a European private equity firm, announced that IK VII Fund has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Marle International, an independent implant contract manufacturing company in Europe, from The Carlyle Group.

Carlyle’s Europe Technology fund, majority shareholder since 2009, will reinvest alongside management and the Marle family. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and completion of the transaction is subject to legal and regulatory approvals.

Marle delivers over 1 million products annually and serves OEMs across Europe, the U.S., Latin America, Russia, Japan, Korea and China. Headquartered in Nogent, France, Marle runs six certified production sites in France and generated revenues of €82MM ($91.51MM) in 2015.

The Carlyle Group reportedly began exploring selling its stake in Marle earlier this month. Carlyle Group bought an 80% interest in Marle in 2009. The Marle family and management team retained a 20% stake.
