Lucideon has been awarded ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation for the total wear testing of hip joints. The accreditation encompasses ISO 14242-1 and ISO 14242-2 standards and was awarded by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service).
The extension to scope means that Lucideon can offer accredited total hip joint wear testing services. Lucideon carries out wear and fatigue testing and debris analysis of hip implants in the UK and of knee implants in the U.S., the latter facility having just undergone further investment to double its capacity to meet demand.
