Lucideon, a materials technology company, has named Ms. Leah Guenther as Commercial Engineer for Healthcare.
She will be Lucideon’s main point of contact for orthopaedic clients, providing guidance for the development and regulatory testing of implants. Ms. Guenther received a Master’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, where she specialized in orthopaedic wear testing and the effect of lubricant composition on polyethylene wear. She has contributed to a number of implant retrieval studies during her career, combining failure analysis techniques with clinical data in order to assess the performance and survivorship of joint replacement systems.
Lucideon performs full regulatory support and testing for orthopaedic implants, including: wear and fatigue, cleaning and sterilization validation, laser marking evaluation, and failure, debris and surface analysis. The company also offers product design and development, materials selection and process optimization.
