GE Additive recently opened its first international Customer Experience Center in Munich. The 29,000-square-foot facility, co-located with GE’s European Technology Center, allows current and potential customers to experience every aspect of the additive manufacturing process, from design to prototyping to operations.

Ten additive machines from German subsidiary Concept Laser (a manufacturer of powder bed-based laser additive manufacturing machines) and Swedish subsidiary Arcam (a supplier of additive manufacturing technology) have been installed. The Customer Experience Center also allows current and potential customers to:

  • Access the latest metal additive machines (DMLM and EBM)
  • Collaborate with GE’s additive experts on product identification, design, material selection and on additive facility setup
  • Build prototypes and see designs come to life
  • Build multiple parts and develop operations process prior to full rate production
  • Train in all aspects of additive manufacturing
  • Reach GE’s team who can provide field service knowledge, spares and operational support

A U.S.-based Customer Experience Center is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The opening of the  Munich center is the latest in a series of investments made by GE Additive in advanced manufacturing and additive technology.
