John McCloy, a member of the American Society of Testing Materials, the American Society of Metals and the American Welding Society, has formed Engineered Assurance to provide professional engineering, troubleshooting and consulting services along with litigation support.
Engineered Assurance works with companies throughout manufacturing, power generation, transportation and related industries to isolate and resolve equipment failure, thereby reducing downtime. The company also provides data acquisition services to reduce warranty claims, validate new designs and drive product development. McCloy also examines medical explants to determine reasons for failure and provides expert witness testimony in litigation support for both defendants and plaintiffs.

“Catching a design flaw early can save a lot in the long run. I’ve seen a lot of money thrown at projects with the wrong leadership and millions of dollars go down the drain. The toughest client we have is the one that doesn’t know what they want,” he said.
