Imaging Analytics: Optimizing Time Efficiencies

Exhibit 1. Multi-modality Validation for Bone-Ingrowth: utilizing Micro-CT can reduce the need for histology by up to 75%. 3D Micro-CT (bottom) and 2D histological (top) approaches were employed to quantitatively analyze bone in-growth within a ceramic biomaterial implanted into a femur. Images on right show pseudo-colored quantitative visualizations of segmented scaffold (green) and new bone (blue, top; red, bottom) extracted by automated image analysis algorithms.
