Tangible Solutions and Cedarville University to Develop 3D Printing Technology

Tangible Solutions and Cedarville University’s Biomedical Engineering Program have partnered to further develop 3D printing technology for the orthopedic industry. This partnership will be among the first in the world undertaken to investigate the ways that 3D printed architecture, structure and surface design characteristics affect the functionality of 3D printed titanium for successful implant design and manufacture.

A matrix of 3D-printed titanium variables will be studied to evaluate cell viability outcomes for various 3D-printed architectural and surface designs.

“Our customers spend 1000s of hours engineering the next generation of orthopedic implants,” said Adam Clark, CEO of Tangible Solutions, whose sole focus is 3D printing of titanium orthopedic implants for OEMs. “We aim to use this knowledge to further elevate the high standards of 3D-printed orthopedics. Furthermore, Cedarville University is an impressive institution and they have a very passionate staff and student body.”
