Resonetics Acquires Contract Manufacturer Caribou Technologies

Resonetics acquired Caribou Technologies, a Minnesota-based supplier of centerless grinding, forming, coiling, machining, surface treatments, laser processing, cleaning and passivation.

Since 2005, Caribou has grown its customer base in Minneapolis and globally, serving a wide base of medical markets that include interventional spine and orthopedic instruments.

Tom Burns, President and CEO of Resonetics, expressed that Caribou’s founders “have established a great reputation in the industry by building a talented team and providing innovative manufacturing processes. They’ve also invested in an impressive 50,000-square-foot facility that highlights their commitment to their employees and customers and provides a great venue to serve our expanding business needs.”

With this acquisition, Resonetics adds new manufacturing capabilities to produce tightly toleranced metal components and sub-assemblies.

Resonetics recently announced a partnership to offer its medical components on Chamfr, an online marketplace. Chamfr’s model provides design engineers with rapid delivery, helping to shorten the time it takes to build a medical device.
