Medplast Completes Acquisition of Integer’s ASO Product Lines, Rebrands as Viant

Medplast, a global services provider to the medical device industry, has completed the purchase of Integer's Advanced Surgical and Orthopedics (ASO) product lines and rebranded itself as Viant.

"The addition of Integer’s business expands our capabilities and offerings and enables us to achieve our goal of being a full-service supplier to our customers,” said Viant Chief Executive Officer Brian King. “Our new name, Viant, represents our dedication to our customers and to the patients that our customers serve.”

MedPlast also announced that its corporate headquarters will move to Foxborough, Massachusetts.

With the Integer ASO product line acquisition, Viant gains a range of metals manufacturing capabilities (e.g. machining, stamping, coating and metal forming), as well as design, development and prototyping services.

MedPlast purchased the lines from Integer for US $600MM in cash.

ORTHOWORLD estimates for 2017 placed Integer among the top five contract manufacturers serving the orthopaedic industry, ranked by revenue: Tecomet, Orchid, Cretex companies, Integer (now Viant) and Rosler. The Contract Manufacturing chapter of THE ORTHOPAEDIC INDUSTRY ANNUAL REPORT® offers observations on market health, product trends and market forces that affect the global supply chain.
