MedTorque Introduces Family of Single-Procedure Torque-Limiting Drivers

MedTorque, a supplier of standard and custom instrumentation, has announced a line of single-procedure torque-limiting drivers.  According to the company, these drivers are the only on the market to offer Torque-Shield™ as well as a ratcheting drive mechanism as standard features.

In addition, MedTorque says this product line positions the company as the sole manufacturer of both single-procedure and reusable torque-limiting drivers.

MedTorque’s Torque-Shield cycle count system eliminates the possibility of using the driver beyond its calibration lifecycle. “The deactivation of the drive mechanism after reaching final actuation is an innovation that is unparalleled in the industry,” said Chad Ryshkus, Director of Marketing & Business Development.

“We have been listening to our customers over the years and have become very sensitive to their concerns surrounding calibration of torque-limiting drivers,” said Steve Sundberg, MedTorque CEO.  “Our focus when developing our products—whether they’re single-procedure or reusable—has been to eliminate these concerns by providing solutions that perform in a predictable manner.”

The single-procedure torque-limiting product covers torque values from 5 in-pounds through 120 in-pounds and come in a variety of handle styles such as palm, axial, tee and offset tee. AO and 0.25-inch square drive couplings are standard connection options.

MedTorque’s capabilities include:

  • Custom silicone over-molding
  • Close-tolerance CNC manufacturing (milling, turning and EDM)
  • Heat treating
  • Welding (laser and TIG)
  • Metal finishing (glass bead, polish and electro-polish)
  • Cleaning and passivation
  • Laser marking
  • Kitting and assembly
