FMI Instrumed Expanding Additive Production at Tilburg Facility

FMI Instrumed, a specialized contract manufacturer of surgical implants and instruments, is expanding additive manufacturing production at its Tilburg (Netherlands) facility. Spinal implants are produced at this location using three EBM machines from Arcam.

FMI Instrumed recently added a fifth industrial metal 3D printer to its Schiedam (Netherlands) facility.

In addition to traditional machining, passivation, anodization, laser marking, cleaning and packaging, FMI Instrumed also offers additive manufacturing of titanium implants with a focus on serial manufacturing of orthopedic and spinal implants. This validated AM process is integrated with automated CNC post-processing to increase quality and reduce cost and lead time, according to the company.
