ConnectSx Launches UDidentify Mobile App

ConnectSx, a Mokena, Illinois-based startup providing SaaS solutions that support and strengthen the surgical value chain, has launched UDidentify, a free mobile app enabling medical device manufacturers, sales reps and healthcare providers to scan HIBCC and GS1 unique device identification (UDI) barcodes, validate them against FDA’s Global UDI Database (GUDID) and return critical device information to the end-user.

UDidentify allows a user to scan individual or multiple barcodes simultaneously and then view a history of all UDIs previously scanned, even if he or she uses the app anonymously. Users wanting more flexibility can create a free profile to associate data with an email address. Once created, the user can log into the account from any iOS or Android device to see a complete scanning history and then email that history—including UDI and device information—to the email address of his or her choice.

When integrated with the ConnectSx suite of apps, a range of high-value surgical case information can be associated with each individual device, creating the potential for new business insights, improved care and device innovation.

UDidentify is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
