Collagen Solutions, the Glasgow, Scotland and San Jose, California-based maker of medical grade collagen for medical devices, is expanding into China.
The company entered a joint venture agreement with China-based investment conglomerate Cre8ive. The joint venture company will have offices in Beijing.
Collagen holds 60 percent control of the joint venture, with Cre8tive holding 40 percent. Collagen will provide initial investment into the company, while Cre8tive will provide territory expertise, administrative services and regulatory support.

Collagen joins other supplier entrants into the Chinese market. Orchid acquired a coating facility in Suzhou and then expanded its capabilities. Eurocoatings and Surface Dynamics will open a new coating facility in Shanghai before the close of 2016.
