CTL Acquires AccelSPINE

CTL Medical, a medical device manufacturing and services company, signed a definitive agreement to acquire AccelSPINE, effective January 25, 2016.

AccelSPINE is a developer of custom instruments and implants to treat the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. The company achieved its CE Marking and EN ISO 13485 certification in 4Q15.

CTL Medical will retain all AccelSPINE employees and expects a significant workforce increase by early 2017.

AccelSPINE received FDA clearance on its Picasso II system in May 2014. Picasso II employs a minimally invasive approach, intended to immobilize and stabilize spinal segments in skeletally mature patients as an addition to fusion during the treatment of acute and chronic instabilities or deformities of the upper or lower spine or tail-bone region.
