Interstate Plastics Names Mark Courtright President

Interstate Plastics has announced the appointment of Mark Courtright to succeed Galen Klokkevold as President.

Courtright most recently served as Interstate Plastics’ General Manager, with primary responsibility for branch management and supplier and sourcing management. Courtright has been with the company nearly 20 years and been involved in their growth from three locations to nine facilities over his tenure with the company.

In a formal company-wide announcement regarding the organizational change, Cole Klokkevold, the CEO, wrote: “We recognize that over his tenure with the Company, Mark has naturally taken on many of the duties of his new position and did so with great dedication to the original founding principles. It had become evident that we needed to formally recognize his contribution to the growth and direction that he has forged for our Company by elevating him to this position.”

Courtright is backed by many years of management and leadership experience. He began his career in 1981 at U.S. Steel, where he started as a Management Associate, moving into Sales, and finally into the Flat Rolled Product Manager position. In 1985, Courtright moved on to Lusk Metals in Hayward, California, where he started as outside sales, and then Inside Sales Manager. He was later promoted to the position of General Manager. In 1990, Courtright transitioned into the plastics distribution business at Laird Plastics, a multi-national plastics distribution company, where he served as Regional Manager for three locations in the West.

Today’s announcement concludes a transition process that began when Courtright was announced as President in early September, 2014.
